What We Do

One Platform for the Entire Supply Chain

Many brands still manage supplier data across email, spreadsheets, and a dozen disconnected tools. Retraced puts it in one place. Brands map their supply chain across every tier, manage risk, run corrective actions, and collaborate directly with their suppliers.

Our AI reads and structures the documents that used to eat weeks of manual work, from scope certificates to compliance records. Suppliers are central to Retarced. They log in, contribute their own data, and reuse it across every brand they work with.

When a brand wants to show its work, Digital Product Passports carry that transparency all the way to the product tag.

The Retraced Story

When Philipp Mayer and Lukas Puender founded their ethical shoe brand CANO in 2016, they kept running into the same wall. Proving where a product really comes from, and showing that to the people buying it, was almost impossible. The information was scattered across suppliers who had no easy way to share it, and no tool pulled it together.

So in 2019, together with co-founder Peter Merkert, they built one. The instinct came from their own experience running CANO, where they tried to show customers exactly where a product came from and found the industry had no way to support it. Retraced started as a way to connect brands with the people who make their products, and to foster supplier relationships that brands could present proudly.

The idea grew as the industry did. Brands needed to gain visibility into their supply chains deeper than the first tier. They needed to manage risk, run corrective actions, and keep up with changing compliance rules. Suppliers needed an easy way to share their data with brands, so Retraced was built with them in mind as well.

Today more than 150 brands and 30,000 suppliers work on Retraced, from names you know to the factories most people never see. And through Digital Product Passports, the transparency they build together now reaches the whole value chain: from the cotton farmer to the shopper holding the product, which is where the whole idea started.
