Getting Ahead of Expectations
As a certified B Corporation, Faherty builds its brand on deep commitments to craftsmanship, sustainability, and ethical business. But that commitment comes with rising expectations. “Once you become a brand that starts talking about sustainability, it really puts you out there,” says Lisa Diegel, Director of Global Sustainability. “Your customers do have some expectations of transparency”.
Regulations like the NY Fashion Act are on the horizon. But for Faherty, transparency goes beyond checking boxes. It’s a way to future-proof the business and build trust through transparency.
Choosing a Platform to Scale with the Mission
Faherty turned to Retraced as the company searched for a solution that could do more than manage supplier lists.
“We were looking for a product that was user-friendly and could capture our entire supply chain in an accessible way. Retraced stood out because many brands already use it, so a portion of our suppliers were already familiar with it”.

They also had longer-term needs in mind. “We wanted to manage suppliers, but also eventually manage CAPs, risk management, and product traceability. Retraced has all of these capabilities.”
From Surveys to Supplier Strategy
Faherty uses Retraced to manage supplier onboarding and engagement, starting with a 38-question survey that builds a complete supplier profile inside the system.
When the brand needed to fulfill CanopyStyle requirements—asking manufacturers to disclose man-made cellulosic fibre (MMCF) suppliers—Retraced streamlined the entire process. “We use Retraced to send out the communication and a form for each supplier to fill out. It makes it easier to track responses and compile the reporting for Canopy,” says Lisa.
Retraced also helped align internal teams and prevent inefficient partnerships. “The platform helps us filter out suppliers who aren’t aligned with our impact values. It makes onboarding much more efficient.”
Empowering Teams and Driving Consistency
Now entering its second year with Retraced, Faherty sees it as a backbone for broader initiatives; from risk and product compliance to supplier collaboration and transparency reporting.
“Retraced helps us operate more responsibly. It makes us more efficient, keeps us aligned with consumer expectations, and helps us stay up to date with industry standards”.

What’s Next
Faherty is continuing to build out circularity programs and embed transparency deeper into its supply chain operations. “Even if compliance were to disappear tomorrow, we would still be doing this,” says Lisa. “Because it's aligned with who we are and how we want to grow.”
